About Us
Brian Svik
Brian has two decades of experience in the training field (half in the private sector and half in the public sector). He first came to Nebraska state government in 2007. In March of 2018 he left for an opportunity in the private sector, but returned to state government in March of 2020. What has driven him throughout his career is a desire to help people succeed and he is appreciative to work with a team which shares that passion.
Matt Rudeen
I am honored to be part of the Training & Development Team, as we connect with so many state employees to provide significant and relevant growth opportunities! I love working for the State of Nebraska, as I am continuously discovering my role as a public servant. I am addicted to playing Guitar and to all things Hockey! My wife Brooke and I are very proud of our 3 perfect children.
Renae Prieto
Renae has built a career around inspiring teammates at all levels to grow their skills and careers. Before joining the State of Nebraska in 2013, she served as a high school English teacher in Omaha Public Schools and then a corporate trainer for Whole Foods Market. In her current role, Renae’s main focus is curriculum and program design & instructor-led and leadership training.
Tracy Poppe
I have over 20 years working in the human services field. Working with adolescents and children and families involved in the child welfare system, as well as the supervising the foster care unit and a team of child abuse/neglect investigators, has provided me with priceless learning opportunities and growth. In 2008, I became a trainer and trained several areas within The DHHS. My greatest success is the relationships I’ve built and helping many grow their skills. My husband Daryl is a 7th grade World History teacher and we have one, athletic, kind hearted daughter, Lexi.
