
Amara Block
General Counsel
Amara Block has worked for the State of Nebraska on and off since 2010 and now serves as the Department’s General Counsel. Prior to her current role, she worked at the Legislature as Counsel for the Business and Labor Committee and for the Education Committee.
In law school, she was President of Greater Nebraska Connections, was on the Faculty Honor Committee, and volunteered with the Community Legal Education Project and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Amara attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Criminal Justice and Political Science. She attended law school at UNL, concentrating on litigation skills and solo & small firm practice programs.
