A Policy and procedure for pre-audit certification has been posted on State Accounting’s web site:

Employees that conduct pre-audit for your agency will need to be certified by State Accounting effective April 1, 2008. 

This includes staff who are considered as “back-ups”.

Several Pre-Audit Certification classes have been scheduled in Lincoln; for those Agencies where it is not convenient to drive to Lincoln, we will be scheduling two classes in North Platte.  If you would like to attend a class in North Platte, please email Colin Wilson at colin.wilson@nebraska.gov and he will let you know the dates, times and location for the classes. Employees can register for the Lincoln classes by going to the NIS Home Page (http://www.das.state.ne.us/nis/), click on Available Training, and then click the On-Line Registration link.  Once you log-in, click on Special Events.  There may be other classes listed under Special Events; check the field named Instructor for the class name and then make the selection for dates & times that best suit your schedule.

State Accounting recommends that pre-audit staff attend the Pre-Audit training class prior to taking the certification class.  Two Pre-Audit training classes have been scheduled in February, and you may register for these classes by following the above instructions.
